New Billing System

July 22, 2009:

IHS Web Solutions has installed a new, integrated billing system. This will streamline the billing and payment process for our customers. As always, we will accept all major credit cards and checks.

Beginning with our 3rd quarter billing, you will receive an email from our Beancounter which will include a link to the payment page for your hosting plan or domain name registration.

On the payment page, you will be able to pay monthly, quarterly, or annually, and you can choose between making a one-time payment or enrolling in automatic payments.

Please note that with the new system, accounts that go 60 days past due will be automatically suspended. Accounts that go 90 days past due will be deleted from our system and cannot be recovered. If your account is suspended, you should contact beancounter@ihswebsolutions.com as soon as possible to ensure that your website is not deleted.

Accounts that are suspended will also NOT have access to their email, and anyone attempting to email that account will receive an error.

By fully automating the billing system, we can keep IHS efficient which keeps our prices low!

IHS Web Solutions Adds New Hosting Package

IHS is proud to announce the addition of a new hosting package geared towards our media-delivery customers. The new package, Media Server, provides 10GB of storage and 20GB of bandwidth (upgradeable to 100GB).

We do not oversell our storage, bandwidth, or processing power, so you can count on reliable, high-performance hosting for your media application (streaming video/audio, script-heavy sites, etc.).

The Media Server package is just $69.95/mo and includes 200 email accounts and 20 databases.

Scheduled hardware upgrades -

IHS Web Solutions is migrating web accounts to new hardware during this time period. Although we do not anticipate any downtime for your website, it is possible that you may experience temporary outages while DNS propagates.

We highly recommend that WordPress users refrain from adding new content during this time period. If you decide to update your WordPress blog during this time period, please make sure you keep a backup copy of your post on your computer. It’s possible that you could post a blog on the old server after it’s already been copied to the new server (and you’re seeing the old due to DNS not being propagated yet).

If you registered your own domain name (rather than registering it through us), you must change the nameservers for your domain (at the registrar where you registered the domain) to:

ns1.ihswebserve.com
ns2.ihswebserve.com

Failure to update the nameservers will result in your site becoming unavailable. Your information will not be lost, however the site will be unavailable until you make the nameserver changes. After you make the nameserver changes, it can take 24-48 hours before your site becomes available again. If you change your nameservers before July 23rd, you should not experience a problem. This particular issue affects only a tiny percentage of IHS customers.

IHS technicians are inspecting each individual website for technical issues or migration-related errors. If you find any issues with your site, please send a support request to us using our online support ticket system.

Thank you for you continued business and for your understanding as we strive to keep our customers on the best network possible.
