Founder & President
IHS Web Solutions was founded in 2005 by Peter Lucas. Pete began the business as a hobby, in order to provide reliable but affordable hosting to his friends in the blogging community. However, the business quickly flourished as word traveled word-of-mouth about the incredible affordability and quality of service. Pete's philosophy is to handle each customer's site as if it were his own. This site, as well as Pete's own blog site are hosted on IHS servers.
IHS Web Solutions - Technology
Want speed? Reliability? Service? You've come to the right place. How about the best prices in the business? We've got that, too. All webmasters want fast, reliable technology and good support. However, with other companies, you have to pay dearly for that combination. Many hosting companies offer lower prices by using inferior hardware. Not here. At IHS, you get it all.
IHS runs on quad processor Pentium servers. Critical hardware is housed in the ultra-reliable data centers in Maryland, Chicago, and Sacremento, and monitored 24/7, and we have 99.9% uptime. All data centers have redundant climate controls and backup generators. Drives on our servers are hot swappable meaning in the unlikely event that hardware fails, the entire web platform can be back up in minutes. Triple-redundant fiber and DS-3 connections provide vast, seamless bandwidth, meaning your site will load fast. Guaranteed.
Domain Name Registration
You can register your domain two ways. First, you can email your request to IHS. This option is perfect for those who are not web experts, and don't want the responsibility of configuring name servers. Second, you can sign up and register at our Registrar site. This allows you to have control over all options. You can even register a domain and point it to your own servers.
